Government To Launch New Modules For The Youth Employment Agency
The government is set to launch four new key modules under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) on Wednesday, October 2, 2019.
The modules, which includes Job centre, Artisan directory, Agricultural based flagship programme and work abroad, is aimed at providing opportunities for job seekers who do not fall under the current modules to apply and become resourceful to the economy.
A Deputy Minister for Information, Mr Pius Hadzide announced this at a press briefing at on Thursday in Accra.
According to him, the job centre would serve as a platform to link job seekers to employers and the artisan directory would train and set up artisans and make them accessible through the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The agricultural-based flagship programme would focus on development initiative in various regions, taking into cognizance the natural endowment and comparative advantage and the work abroad module is aimed at sending young professionals to other countries.
He added that, as part of government efforts to disseminating information and bring governance close to the citizenry, the Ministry in collaboration with the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council, would host the fifth Town Hall Meeting on the theme “Accounting for financial sector resolution, jobs and agriculture” on September 30, 2019, in Bolgatanga.
